    Church Roof latest

    Approval from the Diocese has now been given for the work on the roof to go ahead (although there are still several red tape issues to tackle) and all being well work should be starting at the beginning of April. Although permission will, hopefully, be granted formally by the autumn it will be too late in the year to start work and we have to consider issues such as weather, sourcing the correct materials, roofers schedules and bat habitats! Therefore, April 2016 is the chosen date – watch this space…..

    Teas at the Fair

    Thank you to all those who’ve offered cakes and help on the day. Cakes can be brought to the Parish Hall from 9.30am onwards or at other times if you call me in advance 01647 441224. If you can help on the day with serving or kitchen duties and haven’t yet been in touch, please do so. I’m still short of a few bodies – any condition considered!

    Church roof latest

    After successfully achieving an award from the Listed Places of Worship for a new roof for our church we now had to apply to the Diocese of Exeter for a faculty (permission) to replace the existing one! After filling in all the forms and carrying out an emergence survey of any bats that may be in residence (none that we could see) and consulting with our architect it seems we still have a little way to go to dot all the i’s and cross the t’s to satisfy all the strict requirements.     COMPETITIONS IN THE CHURCH : Fruit, flowers and vegetables. Proud of your produce this year? Then enter your prize specimens in our garden produce competition. Any fruits, vegetables, herbs or flowers welcome. Let’s have a real cornucopia in the church this year. All entries should be brought to the church between 9.30 and 1pm on the morning of the fair.
