    ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM of The Friends of St Johns will take place on Tuesday 18th February at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. All members are very welcome to attend and we would like to see as many people as possible. This is, of course, the forum where questions may be asked – and answered – issues discussed and accurate information obtained. If you cannot attend, then please submit any questions in writing to the Secretary, Debbie Jenkin, by 1st February.

    Friends of St. John’s AGM

The AGM of the Friends of St. John’s is approaching. As members of our community, you may be interested in joining the Friends. As a totally separate body from the Parochial Church Council, our function is to raise funds in order to provide monies to be used for the restoration and maintenance of the structure of our lovely Parish church. If you are interested I can supply details of our AGM on Tuesday, 18th February to which all would be most welcome. There is also a membership form available. It would be good to hear from you! Yours Debbie Jenkin, Secretary of the Friends of St, John’s

    Flooding

If you are affected by the flooding this may be useful. This barrier system is fast to deploy and light enough to be manageable. I have a personal contact with the company (Britt Warg, she was talking about it on Channel 4 News recently). If you would like to be put in touch to see if it might suit your needs just let me know directly or as a comment on this post.

North Bovey footbridge update – 3rd Jan 2014

Posted on behalf of John Clark: Our Dartmoor National Park Ranger, Serina Rouse, has been to inspect the flood damage to the structure of the footbridge by the Stepping Stones. The bridge has been posted as “closed until further notice”. Together with Serina we have established what materials will be needed to repair the bridge’s hand rail structure. As soon as suppliers are open for business on Monday 6th Jan, Serina will order the materials for delivery to site within a week or so. When the weather and river level permit, the North Bovey Conservation Group has offered to assist Serina with the works.
