Car break-in!

This message relates to Police Log 491 07/03/16.

Police would like residents to exercise caution when answering the phone to persons claiming to be calling from the police.

A local resident received a phone call from someone stating they were calling from Police and were looking for persons over the age of 82 to have equipment install which would give them priority if they ever needed to call the police and would cost £9.

Devon and Cornwall Police will not cold call anyone offering to install equipment or ask for money and advise residents never to give any personal or banking details to persons cold calling at the door or over the phone.

We would ask recipients of Community Messaging to make your more elderly or vulnerable neighbours aware of this message. Thank you
