    North Bovey parishioners are invited to attend a meeting to discuss the Coronation of King Charles III at North Bovey Parish Hall on Tuesday 28th February at 7.00pm, hosted by Ed Pollard, Chair of North Bovey Parish Council The Parish Council would love to hear from the North Bovey community about how we would like to celebrate this historic occasion, which, for most, will be the first in their lifetime, and for the others, only the second. The actual Coronation Day is Saturday 6th May, and there will be extensive television coverage. The suggestion is that we focus local events on Sunday 7th & Monday 8th May.  Do come and…

    Queen Elizabeth II

    On behalf of the parishioners of North Bovey, North Bovey Parish Council would like to express its sadness at the death of our Queen Elizabeth II and to applaud her for a life of unwavering duty to her Country, Commonwealth and Subjects. She will be sadly missed, but at the same time we must celebrate the wonderful life she has paved over her 96 years, with 70 of those at the head of the Realm.  May she rest in peace.     Sunday 5th June is the final day of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations

    Here are the timings of our events:   9.30am Church Service at St John the Baptist Church   10.45am Procession from the Village Green to the stepping stones, to unveil the Platinum Jubilee Plaque by the newly planted willow tree   12 noon Ringing of the Church Bells   12.30pm North Bovey Community Picnic Lunch This will be held in and around the Parish Hall and Village Green. There are tables in the Parish Hall if the weather is inclement. Bring your own picnic, and then you are invited to help yourself to a selection of puddings and a cheeseboard.     Saturday’s events for our North Bovey celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

    Those taking part in ‘Beating the Bounds’ will be gathering at the Parish Hall for 9am, and leaving immediately. The walk will take you to Dickford Bridge, the boundary with Lustleigh Parish, and will end at Jurston at around 4.00pm. There will be transport along the way for those who don’t want to do the whole walk, and transport back from Jurston.   This is followed by a sumptuous Cream Tea from approximately 4.30pm in the Parish Hall hosted by the North Bovey Belles WI!   And on another note, if you have a car parked on the east side of the Green – ie, in front of the Parish…
