St. John’s North Bovey is a beautiful church dating from the 13th and 15th centuries. The list of known Rectors dates from 1279 and there was a church on that site before, although no description of it survives. The church was altered during the Victorian years and extensively restored by Viscount Hambledon between 1916-1918.
