Village Fair

The North Bovey Village Fair takes place in July on and around the village green.

There are all the usual fair activities – to start the fair the church bells ring, there is dancing around the maypole, bric-a-brac, nearly new clothing, trips up the church tower, art and photography exhibitions, plant stall, a barrel organ, cake stall, children’s entertainer, a fun dog show, pets’ corner, a serious hill run (now in its third year) and games. The teas, served in and outside the parish hall are legendary.

Free to attend, we hope by raising money to contribute to two great buildings in our parish – the Church and the Parish Hall, both of which need to be maintained. We normally like to make a contribution to the Devon Air Ambulance which has done sterling work for the county and for North Bovey.

The fair is a great way to get to know everyone, so if you have just moved here, or passing through, come and join us. If you are a resident with lots of new ideas for fun, we’d love you to take part.
