Quite a lengthy message from DCC – a summary DCC are really pleased that the vast majority of residents followed the government’s guidance and stayed at home this bank holiday weekend, thank you. There was a huge 85 per cent drop in traffic coming into Devon this Easter following our calls for holidaymakers and second home owners to stay away. It seems highly unlikely that the government will relax their social distancing guidance this week, which means we will all continue to adapt to a very different way of life. NHS steps up coronavirus capacity with new Nightingale Hospital A new NHS Nightingale Hospital will be opened in Westpoint Exeter to provide 200 extra beds for patients with coronavirus symptoms if needed. The NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter, announced today by NHS Chief Executive, Sir Simon Stevens, brings the total to seven confirmed NHS Nightingale Hospitals in a matter of weeks.
