Village Fair 2013
Well, well done, everyone – there was a prodigious amount of baking, washing up, sorting of bric-a-brac, arranging clothing, displaying books, handing out of bananas, clambering up the church tower, glorious paintings by Moreton school, hill running, scary scarecrows, fabulous cream teas, photographs taken and admired, bottles won, a great raffle, plants planted, exciting and record breaking duck race, bunting erected, prettiest chickens, most enterprising children, perfect maypole dancing with live music by Flute Salad, our lovely church bells, stone carving, well and badly behaved dogs, the lovely Little Huzzar barrel organ, a world class sheep-shearing contest., good food at the Ringers. Not all our money is in yet, but so far it appears that we have made more than last year (£3,200-ish) and I’ll be putting up the results of individual stalls etc. soon, when I’ve got the last of it in. Hoping that the photographers amongst you will be posting your pictures soon, but meantime, here is the winning photograph by Jan Vanhentenrijck. More soon. Thank you everybody who helped. Mandy.

Our first visit to the fair and we very much look forward to contributing and helping out at next year’s event when we shall, hopefully, have taken up residence in this beautiful village. Thank you all for a lovely, memorable day
