A message from South West Water re works in North Bovey
You may have seen a message about works to take place around the village green in North Bovey in February. Here is an update from South West Water:
The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 20th February. The contractors will then start excavating a ducting trench which will start from the telegraph pole (close to the phone box) and will run close to the wall of The Old Post Office’s garden, around the bend and across the car park apron, opposite the church lychgate. The contractors need to connect a cable from the telegraph pole to the monitoring box in the car park to access the internet as a wifi signal would not be strong enough.
Ducting across the car park will begin from Tuesday 28th onwards, with tarmac re-instatement on Friday 3rd March. During this time, access to the car park will be restricted between the working hours of 07:30 – 17:30 but Kier will lay road plates at the end of the shift to allow access outside of these hours. They will also work across the car park in two halves to maintain as much access as possible.
We have spoken to someone in Teignbridge District Council car parking team and they are happy with our proposal.
Kier will place signs in the car park when they start on site from 20th February, but if locals have other means of contacting local car park users that would be greatly appreciated please.
