‘This year, with the difficulties of Covid, the Friends of St John have decided not to have the normal Safari Supper but, instead, will be putting on a Cream Tea in the Parish Hall on the afternoon of Saturday 7th of August – further details of timing and costs will be circulated in due course. If you are interested in attending please can you email Bob Small  bobposhpig@gmail.com and he’ll put you on the list.   The North Bovey Quiz, deferred from February, will now be held on Friday 24th September as usual in the Parish Hall. Again full details will be published shortly.’  

THE FRIENDS OF ST JOHN’S NORTH BOVEY On Wednesday 12th February at 19.30, The Friends of St John’s North Bovey will host Liz Gavrilenko of Bread by Liz at an evening where Liz will talk about her company and her community work; the event will be in the North Bovey Parish Hall. Liz will start her talk at 19.30 until a break at 20.15 when a glass of wine will be available for all, courtesy of the Friends, and light refreshments supplied by Liz.  The Friends will then hold their AGM, a very short affair, before Liz then continues her talk at about 20.45 until 21.15 when the evening will end.  We look forward to seeing a good gathering…

Friends of St Johns Quiz night! The Friends of St John’s North Bovey are staging their fifth annual Quiz Evening on Friday 31st January in the Parish Hall.  It’s fun filled evening with a really great quiz put together and presented by Ian Goodwin.The cost for a team of 6 is £60.00 which includes bottles of wine and plenty of cheese and biscuits as well.  To enter your team please contact Bob Small by email bobposhpig@gmail.com or by ‘phone on 07811 960946.  With a maximum of only 11 teams and with four teams already entered please contact Bob as soon as possible.’
