Flu Vaccinations – latest.

From Alex at Moretonhampstead Health Centre

Flu Vaccinations – it’s a long one but please read !!!
We will be inviting all those patients who are elligible for the flu vaccination this year early next week so you should hear from us by Wednesday/Thursday when you will be able to call us to book an appointment. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR LETTER OR TEXT INVITATION.
Our delivery of the vaccine has already been delayed by 2 weeks and we are expecting it on the 30th September! Clinics will start on the 12th October which allows us a little flexibility incase we are delayed again. We all hope not.
This year we will be inviting patients into specific age range clincs under 65s, over 65s and we have arranged clinics for those patients who have been isolating.
Due to the COVID situation this will be a pressurised process for the health centre so please bear with us and in order to keep you and our staff as safe as possible please ensure you follow the following guidelines when attending for the clinic.
All clinics will be held in the Health Centre and one clinic in Manaton
* arrive at the exact time of your appointment
* Ensure you wear a short sleeved top which exposes the upper part of your upper arm
* Please wear a face covering
* Do not bring any additional items such as bags etc to the surgery
* Observe all Social Distancing markers
*Unless frail or with poor mobility, learning disabilities or mental health issues please attend your appointment alone
* Where possible please walk to the Health Centre
* Please use toilet facilities at home prior to leaving for your appointment
These will be in and out clinics following a one way system through the Health Centre. In order to keep infection control to a maximum seats will only be provided for those in need and ALL doors within the Health Centre will be kept open at all times, including clinical rooms, in order to eliminate any surface contact.
All clinicians will be wearing masks, visors and aprons. NHSEngland have advised that the wearing of gloves is not necessary as we will follow the standard hand washing procedures in between each patient.
Thank you for your support we appreciate you have all been waiting for your vaccinations. TOGETHER we can make this a really safe and efficient process.
