VIRTUAL W.I. MEETINGS

It’s the end of May already and what extraordinary times we are living through. Everyone at the North Bovey Belles W.I. is hoping that our members are all keeping well. We might not be able to meet in the Parish Hall for our monthly meetings. However we are thinking of ways that we can keep in contact with interesting items, photos, tips on what to do when you are bored or lonely.

Our secretary will be sending out emails with links to various speakers, YouTube events, WI wanderers events, NFWI online courses and shows. The first link is to “Victory Fashion, To commemorate the 75^th anniversary of Victory in Europe”. Look out for it in Avis’s email.

Our members have been busy sewing for NHS, volunteering in their communities to help others, planting vegetables, carrying on, where possible, with wildlife surveys, knitting Christmas crafts for our prospective November coffee morning.

Below are some photos of a blue tit that Sarah Rego helped after it had stunned itself by flying indoors and then hitting the kitchen window. It recovered and flew off but now comes and sits on their fence and is happy for her to approach quite near! The fox cubs were caught by Mike Rego near Stewart’s wood, playing in the bluebells and completely unfazed by the camera! They have set up a camera to catch them coming in and out of their den – watch out David Attenborough.
