Diamond Jubilee Weekend
Following on from the village meeting a couple of months ago, we now have a schedule of activities for the Diamond Jubilee weekend.
Saturday 2nd June
14.30 – 17.30 Nostalgia Teas in the Village Hall. Come along and enjoy sandwiches like you enjoyed as a child, a selection of Victoria sponge cakes, Jubilee cup cakes and homemade scones will be on sale. There will also be a vintage photo display of North Bovey. All proceeds from this event will go towards a commemorative stone for the village green.
Sunday 3rd June
11.00 Peel of Bells
11.45 Thanksgiving Service in the Parish Church
12.00 Maypole Dancing on the green
12.30 Bring you own picnic on the green
Monday 4th June
11.00 Meet on the green for a guided walk of Easdon led by Debbie Jenkin, visiting some of the boundary stones. The walk will be at a slow pace, and will include some time for a rest and a picnic. It should take around three hours. There will be an option for some to be taken by vehicles to meet up with the walkers in the woods above the village. 22.00 Lighting of the North Bovey Beacon in the fields up near the reservoir / mast.
