Village Fair – 17th July, 2021 ??
Hello All, Firstly I do hope you are all keeping well and surviving the harsh times we are in. I am writing to gauge the interest in holding the village fair this year. Richard Loughton and myself are happy to organise the event but before doing so we thought it best to do a straw poll of opinion. The questions we’d welcome guidance on are: 1) Should we run a fair? 2) If yes, should we aim for the traditional date, being 17th July? 2017 North Bovey Fair Results
In total we raised £4,191.17 which compares to £4,696.04 last year. This really is an exceptional result given the horrendous weather we all had to contend with. Last year was a record in itself and this years result is still the second best ever. A huge thank you to everybody that helped, no matter how big or small. It’s the collective effort on these things that really make them work…….and we made it work.

North Bovey Fair 2017
The weather forecast is not looking great for Saturday, but our fair will go on as usual. We have however made the decision to cancel the sheep shearing competition that was to take place in the evening. It would be dangerous to attempt to shear wet sheep. We are very sorry about this, but we have no plan B, and for everybody’s safety we have to cancel. Fingers crossed we can do it next year. The Fair will still go ahead. Gordon has gone to Newton Abbot in search of gazebos and plastic sheeting, and in the evening we are planning to move into the Parish Hall, with music, a…

Fair Meeting Next Wednesday!
Hi everyone, I’ve organised a meeting for all comers to discuss the Fair on Saturday 18th July. Next Wednesday 6th May 7.00pm in the Parish Hall. The objectives are: 1) To allocate the many responsibilities among our keen and eager bunch of volunteers to make this year’s Fair to be another huge success. 2) To get other ideas of what we can do on the day to raise more money , either for this time around or the future. 3) To discuss the “governance” of the Fair. Hello Everyone I thought it would be helpful to share with you the success of last year’s village fair and what has been done with the funds raised. I will apologise in advance for my appalling spelling but , sadly , there’s not a lot I can do about it now.
