North Bovey Interests Drop-in Event Wash-up meeting

Following the drop-in session on the 18th April a few ideas for interest groups are beginning to coalesce. Would those interested in sharing their ideas at a wash-up meeting for the event please fill out the Doodle poll at http://doodle.com/4mmx2qsgsmi7uz4y

Current topics identified fall under 2 main headings; Cultural History & Natural history

a) Cultural History
• Astro/geo/archaeology
• Tinning industry Roman to 20th century
• Wool industry – Roman to present day

b) Natural History
• Vertebrates,
• Invertebrates,
• Plants (include fungi)

I propose that we set up working groups open to all to:
a&b  Formulate study strategy
a&b  Identify data resources – no reinventing wheels
a&b  Plan associated activities – look for opportunities (eg training days offered by   various organisations)
a&b  Allocate responsibilities and tasks
b        Log and chat about current sightings and identification

Discuss
• Collaborations, eg MHS, DTRG.
• Frequency of meetings
• Type of meeting eg coffee/biscuits/chat/discussion
• Invited speakers – probably once focus becomes apparent.
• Activities, as above.
