    TEN TORS CHALLENGE Wednesday, 26th February, at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall Simon Dell, Managing Director of Moorland Guides, is back with another fascinating illustrated talk. Following on from last year’s success on Dartmoor Prison, Simon will this year take us on a more challenging event. TICKETS are only £5.00, available from Debbie Jenkin, 440053, or the Pub, 440375.     ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

    The AGM of The Friends of St Johns will take place on Tuesday 18th February at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. All members are very welcome to attend and we would like to see as many people as possible. This is, of course, the forum where questions may be asked – and answered – issues discussed and accurate information obtained. If you cannot attend, then please submit any questions in writing to the Secretary, Debbie Jenkin, by 1st February.

    From the Trustees and the Committee of The Friends…….

    Following the recent exchange of views regarding the roles and responsibilities of The Friends and the PCC, we wish to confirm that The Friends’ role is solely, as it always has been since inception in 2006,  to raise funds for the care of the fabric of the church building.  It has always been, and will continue to be, incumbent upon the PCC to identify the importance of the works to be undertaken and to approach The Friends for financial assistance.  The Friends then has the responsibility of deciding if this is in its remit or not, according to the Constitution.  The Friends’ accounts are totally transparent and available at the…
