Blackaller Jacob meat tastes delicious, is low in total fat, low in cholesterol and high in quality protein compared to other red meats; on rabbit and venison rank better. “You can really taste the difference between Jacob and other lamb. It’s that much sweeter.” says a satisfied customer.
Blackaller Jacobs are easy lambers so can lamb outside, spending all their lives in the field grazing the grass and herbs around the village of North Bovey. Lamb and mutton is hung for a week to further enhance flavour and tenderness.
• Half lamb – £6 per kilo, lean and finely textured, butchered, cut, packed and labelled for easy freezing.
• Mutton – £7 per kilo (half carcass) finished in herb-rich meadows over two years. Larger joints, slightly fuller flavour and the centrepiece of a real ‘special occasion’ meal. Butchered. cut, packed and labelled to your specification.
