    Face Coverings Become Mandatory In All Shops and Retail Premises

    Being socially responsibleFrom Friday, July 24, Government COVID-19 legislation changes mean it is mandatory to wear a face covering in all shops and retail premises.The measure will see all shops able to prevent entry to the premises to anyone not wearing a face covering. The new measure will see police given powers to issue a fixed penalty notice to anyone refusing to comply with the legislation, although Devon & Cornwall Police will be adopting an educate, engage and encourage approach with enforcement as a final option. Have you bought anything online recently?… Almost 34% of all retail sales during May 2020 were carried out online, and new research suggests that only 16% of UK consumers intend to return to their old shopping habits post-lockdown. Online shopping fraud during lockdown Action Fraud, the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud and cyber crime, received over 16,000 reports relating to online shopping and auction fraud during the lockdown, with losses totalling over £16m.     Joint Campaign Launched To Help When Searching For Missing People Living With Dementia

    Herbert Protocol forms available in Co-Operative stores A joint partnership scheme has been launched across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, in collaboration with the Co-Operative stores, to help provide police and partner agencies with vital information when they are searching for missing people living with dementia. From Friday 3 July 2020, Herbert Protocol forms can be collected from any of the 42 Co-Operative stores across the county.  The Herbert Protocol form allows carers and family members to record personal information such as special places, people, life events etc. relevant to the person living with dementia.  Once completed, the form is kept at the person’s home address and then passed…

    Don’t Go To Cornwall Tomorrow!!!!

    Abnormal Load Drivers using the M5 and A30 Westbound are being warned about a large convoy which will be escorted by police tomorrow.On Friday 26 June 2020 at 9:30am police will be escorting a vehicle transporting a 53 meters long and 2.55 meters wide ship mast.The route is M5 Exeter Abload Layby – M5 J31 – A30 (E) – Bodmin – A30 Chiverton Cross – turn left onto A390 towards Truro – turn right at Arch Hill Roundabout onto A39 towards Falmouth.Police will be providing a full escort to the convoys and drivers can expect some disruption and possible delays during this time.   That’ll be fun.

Some women are being contacted by text message, claiming to be from the call and recall service to advise they are overdue for screening. The message asks them to call a mobile number and provide personal details. These messages are not from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme. The Action Fraud Line has been contacted.
