    Flu Vaccinations

From The Health Centre We hope you are all well. As you may be aware it is coming quickly to flu season for which we encourage at-risk groups (including older people, pregnant women and people with an underlying physical health condition) to have the annual vaccination for protection against influenza. Please be assured, we are expecting a large amount of the vaccine to arrive with us at the surgery closer to the end of September at which point we will be making this known it is available. . Please do bear with us at this time and stay safe!

    Face Coverings in Church

In line with other areas of public gatherings the Diocese of Exeter have issued new guidance related to the wearing of face masks during church services. “We strongly advise that face coverings should be worn by all those attending a place of worship, including ministers, worshippers, staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors, where there may be otherpeople present; remembering that they are mainly intended to protect other people, not the wearer, from coronavirus COVID-19 and that they are not a replacement for physical distancing and regularhand washing.” It would be appreciated if all those entering the church could abide by the new guidelines.

    Comet Neowise

Fabulous photo by the intrepid Mike Rego of Comet Neowise. Mike writes: This is the view on Monday 20th July of Comet Neowise over North Bovey, at about 11:45pm.  I have never really tried astrophotography before, it is quite a challenge! Without a star-tracking device, it is difficult to avoid star trails, and also quite hard to focus the lens in the dark. Plus it is cold sitting around in the dark fiddling around with the camera controls by torchlight. And just as you get it about right, a car drives through the village with headlights on full beam, upsetting the exposure, or an aircraft or satellite flies across the…
