So Sorry!
SORRY if you have been receiving odd and incomplete posts recently. I have been having some problems with WordPress which we use for Northbovey.org Hopefully we will be back to our normal scintillating blog very soon. Here (I hope) is something soothing for Sunday morning – or Monday, or whenever you see it!

Parish Voices & Facebook
As most of you will know the Parish Blog was not established on Facebook as many parishioners did not wish to use the platform and many wanted a more ‘private’ space. Parish Voices continues as usual (in its own web domain) and seems to satisfy the needs of most stakeholders and organisations as well as particularly respecting the wishes of the Parish Council. I have made one change to further spread the process and I am pleased to announce that there is now a three-way Administration Team of Christine Johnson, Mandy Hart and myself (Gary Day-Ellison). Front page images
There is a change authors need to know about on Parish Voices. The new front page allows for more posts but images work slightly differently. If you want an image to appear on the front page you should select ‘Set featured image’ from the menu. This is in addition to the full image. I use a size of 548×237 pixels for this. If left it will automatically choose an area of your image to display. You can use this as an example.

Can’t Log-In?
A parishioner just told me they had trouble logging in. Investigated and found some ‘Authors’ (people who post) had been re-imported as ‘Subscribers’ (viewers who don’t post). I think it is fixed now so if you have a problem logging-in please let me know day.ellison@mac.com – if you don’t speak up I won’t know and cannot help. Also if you are a Parishioner and would like to post let me know. Please circulate this with friends in case we have lost anybody! I should add my apologies. It may be a software glitch but, well it’s my responsibility. So “Sorry!”

Parish Voices!
The blog now has its own home. It is www.northbovey.org. Please change this in the bookmarks on your browser. I have set up a redirect from the previous address on my website (where it used to live) but this will not always be there. If this puzzles you please ask anyone under 21 or me (young at heart). I have also renamed it ‘Parish Voices‘ to reflect that it is inclusive of all North Bovey parishioners and not just those in the village. It’s not as snappy but I think the principal is more important now. I think everyone will be happy with this but have your say! In making…

Village Voices – New Home
Village Voices will shortly have a new home. You will be able to find it at www.northbovey.org. But wait a few days while some technical voodoo takes place in cyberspace. I will set up a temporary re-direct from the current location on my website where it has been located FOC for many years. This way it will be independent of my mortality and I can use my domain with less trepidation about bringing the Village Blog down. This would probably result in a public burning which I would like to avoid. So make a note now – www. northbovey.org where you can have your say!
