Information sought by police
A man has died after being struck by a van as he changed a tyre on his car on the A30 at Alphington, Exeter.
Emergency services were called at 12.25pm yesterday [Monday 26 March] after reports that a grey Renault Master van had been in collision with the man on the onslip to the A30 eastbound carriageway at Alphington junction.
The man, believed to be in his 50s and from Crewkerne in Somerset, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 32-year-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.
A full investigation of the scene was completed and enquiries are continuing to determine the cause of the collision.
Officers from the Roads Policing Team are investigating the collision and asking for any witnesses to contact them.
