Gun Surrender in Devon and Cornwall ends soon
The firearms surrender period in Devon and Cornwall comes to an end on Sunday 26th November.
Until that time, if you have firearms or ammunition in your possession that you no longer want, or if you are doubtful as whether you hold them legally, you can bring them in to any of our participating police enquiry offices and surrender them. You will not be arrested for illegal possession at the point of surrender and you can remain anonymous.
It might be time to have one more (careful) rummage in the attic and peak inside the tin trunk that has rested in a corner for years that you never got round to looking in. Or maybe that family heirloom on the mantelpiece isn’t quite as harmless as you always believed.
From this selection of items surrendered today in Barnstaple, Bodmin and Camborne, you might even want to (carefully) look in your umbrella stand.

The surrender includes unwanted air weapons – which can cause serious injury – replica weapons which can be used to threaten and older weapons stored in lofts or garages which have been inherited or passed down through the family. While these are not being used for criminal activities, they can and sometimes do fall into the wrong hands and can then be used to commit crimes
