    Church Cleaning………April 11th.

    Not a very exciting title I must admit, but it is that time of the year again. This year, we have a big wedding (from Bovey Castle) on 26th April, as well as three more already booked in during the rest of the year, so we really want to do North Bovey proud and have a sparkling church.  Also, some of the guys are going to start scraping off the flaking plaster in preparation for re-painting – scraping BEFORE the cleaning, so lots of mess and dust, and painting very soon afterwards.     North Bovey farmers on BBC Spotlight

    I’ve just spotted Malcolm Osborne and Hazel Pearse featured in a piece on BBC Spotlight this evening, talking about swaling on ‘the common’. Trying to find the link on BBC iPlayer but only yesterday’s edition is up there at the moment. Will post later if I can find it.

    Fireworks

    Dear All I would like out of courtesy to advise that we will be hosting two private functions at Bovey Castle next week, within which as part of the programme fireworks have been arranged. I can confirm that the displays will take place on Tuesday 11th March at 10.30pm and Thursday 13th March again at 10.30pm.     Black Rabbit lost?

    A black bunny appear to have joined our chickens for a sun-bathe and nibble of what little grass we have left. Sheumais says he’s seen it a few times in that garden and it’s semi-tame, so must have been someone’s pet.     Previous occupant at Chancery Cottage?

    Hello all I’m getting post at Chancery Cottage for someone called Collin Greest.  I’ve never heard of him, and I asked Wendy (the previous owner) who doesn’t know him either.  Currently I’m just putting the letters back in the box with ‘Not known at this address’ written on them.  It occured to me that someone in the village might know him and have a forwarding address.  Please let me know if you do.
