Three months to go! (well, slightly less)
Yes, this year’s fair will be on Saturday 19th of July, and all preliminary boring bits of admin have been done. As a reminder to everyone, and information for newcomers, last year we we made a profit of almost £3,500, and this allowed us to make donations to the Church, the Parish Hall and smaller donations to other worthy causes. The Church and Hall have huge bills every year for insurance, as well as their ongoing maintenance costs, and the Fair profit makes a big contribution to both these insurance bills. I will be emailing around all the usual hard workers to find out if they will take part again this…

Wine Tasting dinner with Charles Steevenson Thursday 8th May 7.30 prompt
I am hoping on a reasonably formal setting, although dress needn’t be, with some fine food being produced by Tony and his team in the kitchen. Charles is so enthusiastic about wine I always find his evenings not only educational but immense fun. I suspect numbers will be limited to around 20 -25 so please book in advance if you would like to attend. 440375 poster by Sophie Meadows

☝︎☝︎ Top Menu Bar ☝︎☝︎
Village Voices is at last starting to make better use of the top menu bar. This is a place for standing information on places, groups and activities. A supplement to the changing posts on current events. Thank you to Mandy Hart for being the first to send in the Village Fair Page! We hope this will extend to the Parish Hall soon with Booking Information, facilities, how to book etc. It would be great if we could do the same for The Church, a standing list of local food producers, the Parish Council etc. A one-stop page for all those often asked questions about joining in, what is available – whatever…

Letter from the Editor
This is a little long but I need to be clear. ”The site was founded by Gary Day-Ellison in 2010 for the benefit of all. It is only moderated to avoid the abusive or devisive. No anonymous posts and comments!” This was the opening statement of intent on the blog four long years ago. Since that time there have been 428 individual posts and 372 comments. Initially I put posts up for people and we used a simple, free software called Posterous. Many were reticent to start with, as is often the way with something new – but it was fun. As site administrator I only had to refuse a handful…
