If you are offered equipment rental (also known as plant hire) or tools at low prices from the back of a van, please be wary.

Take the registration number of the vehicle and as much detail as you can about the items and seller, then contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101. This is the main way that officers are able to reunite goods with their owners.

Please also keep a record of serial numbers for tools and plant and/or property mark them.
