North Bovey celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee – Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June
Please join us for the celebrations of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
Thursday 2nd June at 9.30pm – Lighting of the Beacon, with Manaton Parish on Easdon Down
Saturday 4th June at 9.00am – Beating of the Bounds – assemble at the Parish Hall, North Bovey, prompt, finishing at Jurston Green. Followed by Cream Tea at 4.30pm in the Parish Hall. Further details: Debbie Jenkin 01647 440053
Sunday 5th June at 9.30am – Church Service at St John the Baptist Church, North Bovey
10.45am – Procession from the village green to the stepping stones to unveil the Platinum Jubilee Plaque by the newly planted willow tree
12.00 noon – Ringing of the church bells
12.30pm – North Bovey Community Picnic Lunch around the Parish Hall and Green consisting of a bring your own picnic, followed by an invitation to help yourself to a selection of puddings and cheeseboard. A glass of fizz or a non-alcoholic drink will be available prior to the Royal Toast
2.00pm approx – The Royal Toast and singing of the National Anthem, cutting the cake, and group photo
3.00pm approx – Fun sports activities on the Green will conclude our celebrations!
