The mystery of the missing table

The old (17C?) table used in church for the visitor’s book has mysteriously disappeared and been replaced by a newer model sometime last year. It was replaced with a newer version of similar size and as it is usually covered with a cloth it has gone unnoticed by the majority. Do you know what has happened to the original?
