Fascinating records. It would be tremendous to get a copy of any early maps, to see where the houses were located, and also to learn the names given to any of the fields around the village.Does anyone have this information?

In answer to Mike’s question, the Dartmoor National Park have a collection of old maps going back to 1842 (no good for Domesday). Click on the link to get to their home page then type "North Bovey Conservation Area Appraisal" into the search box, then download the 44 page PDF of the same name. The document contains lots of interesting information as well as the maps.
