Another message from the police
Neil said he was calling people to stop them receiving cold and silent calls. He went on to say that a monthly fee of £4.00 was needed to block these calls but pensioners would pay £1.90.
Neil stated the payments would need to be paid by Direct Debit and would need the residents bank sort code or account number, then told the resident the first 4 digits of their Debit Card, these were infact wrong and the resident (being confused) corrected Neil and gave him the actual digits that would identify their account with the bank)
The resident began to feel suspicious when Neil asked for the remaining card digits and refused. Neil then became a little pushy and the resident terminated the call.
Neil’s voice was English, well spoken with a neutral accent. Residents are reminded to Never give any personal information or card details to any persons over the phone or at your door. Thank you
