    Letter from the Editor

This is a little long but I need to be clear.  ”The site was founded by Gary Day-Ellison in 2010 for the benefit of all. It is only moderated to avoid the abusive or devisive. No anonymous posts and comments!” This was the opening statement of intent on the blog four long years ago. Since that time there have been 428 individual posts and 372 comments. Fireworks

Dear All I would like out of courtesy to advise that we will be hosting two private functions at Bovey Castle next week, within which as part of the programme fireworks have been arranged. I can confirm that the displays will take place on Tuesday 11th March at 10.30pm and Thursday 13th March again at 10.30pm. The displays should last approximately 30 minutes. I would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance that this may cause and would ask that if you have any worries you do not hesitate to contact me. With kind regards, Federico Aresti Hotel Manager E: faresti@boveycastle.com T: 01647 445157 F: 01647 445020 www.boveycastle.com

    Black Rabbit lost?

A black bunny appear to have joined our chickens for a sun-bathe and nibble of what little grass we have left. Sheumais says he’s seen it a few times in that garden and it’s semi-tame, so must have been someone’s pet. Can you spread the word out in case he/she is being looked for . . . Posted on behalf of Caroline Webster.

    Friends of St. John’s AGM

The AGM of the Friends of St. John’s is approaching. As members of our community, you may be interested in joining the Friends. As a totally separate body from the Parochial Church Council, our function is to raise funds in order to provide monies to be used for the restoration and maintenance of the structure of our lovely Parish church. If you are interested I can supply details of our AGM on Tuesday, 18th February to which all would be most welcome. There is also a membership form available. It would be good to hear from you! Yours Debbie Jenkin, Secretary of the Friends of St, John’s
