Manaton Market today!
Rather late notification, I’m afraid, but today is the monthly Manaton Market in the Parish Hall in Manaton. Times are 10.30am to 12 noon. Come on down! And for your diaries, the dates of the next ones are 20th August, 7th September and 15th October.

Safari Supper in aid of the Friends of St John's
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Safari Supper last evening. Great fun! Many thanks to Nikki Hurst for starters, Wendy Spiegel & Peter Keesom for mains, and Dai & Debbie Jenkin for puddings. Spring Activities in the Bovey Valley
As a member of the Woodland Trust, I received an email about events in the Bovey Valley back at the end of April, and intended to post it here. Many apologies that I didn’t! There is one more event to come which may be of interest: 16 May 2013 – Rare Lichens – Dr Brian and Sandy Coppins – 1 to 4pm A recent survey of Hisely Wood identified 155 species of lichen, although regrettably the same survey indicated a slow migration of species to the outer edges of the wood and a decline in the woodland habitat supporting these rare species.
