    The Revd Paul Seaton-Burn, Team Rector of the Whiddon Parishes, has been appointed to serve also as Interim Priest-in-Charge of Moretonhampstead, North Bovey, Manaton and Lustleigh. He will continue in his present responsibility as Team Rector based in Chagford. Paul’s appointment, for a term of two years, is the first step in a process of closer co-operation between the moorland churches of the Moreton benefice and the Whiddon Parishes. The second step will be the appointment of an Associate Priest to be based at Moretonhampstead Rectory, who will take his or her part in our new ministry team of lay and ordained colleagues as soon as possible.     Church Matters

    Even more! The current programme of works in the church which involves removing old plaster and redecorating as well as repairing one of the windows has meant we have had to close the church to visitors and it will be locked when the workmen are not present. Please do not try to enter the church during the renovations as it extremely hazardous due to the amount of equipment involved and everything is covered to protect it from dust.     Indeed it does! Whilst we are improving the interior of the church our services will be held in the Parish Hall. Please see the notices on the village noticeboards for up to date information.     Harvest Lunch

    Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Harvest Lunch, 20th October at 12.30pm in the parish hall. Hot main dish (GF and vegetarian options) and a vast selection of delicious puddings, coffee and chocs.     Old vicars don’t die they just get put out to pastor

    As most of you will know Simon, our vicar, is retiring on March 17th and will hold his last service in North Bovey on February 17th at 9.30 am. Simon enjoyed chatting with many of you on a Tuesday night in the Ring of Bells and it is hoped that as many as possible will be able to attend his last pub night on Tuesday,March 12th to raise a glass and wish him a happy retirement. There will be a Benefice service at Moreton church on 17th March at 10.30 am to bid him a final farewell which will be followed by a bring and share lunch in Moreton parish…

    St John’s Church Giving Service

        This Sunday’s service, March 18th at 9.30am, will focus on  “Giving”.  We shall be encouraging all those attending the service to bring something to add to the food bank collection which is situated in the church and thinking about how we can best help those in need. Everyone in our community is welcome to add to the donations.  The box is just inside the church and can be accessed throughout the week when the church is open (during daylight hours). All donations will be collected for the Teignbridge Food Bank which helps homeless and other people in crisis.  Donations of packaged food items and toiletries are welcomed. Thank…
