British Life Photographic Awards
If you look closely or are lucky, you may see some familiar images in the media this week, as I have been lucky enough to have three photographs from in and around North Bovey be awarded “Highly Commended” status in the “Rural Life” category of the inaugural “British Life Photography Awards”, a national photographic competition on the subject of, yes, you guessed it, “British Life”. The photos of the Village Maypole and the Beating of the Bounds were from 2012, and the B&W image is of Tom Hunt feeding his sheep over at Wray Barton early last year. If you are quick, you can see the images along with all the other winning finalists on display at the Mall Gallery in Pall Mall, London, until Saturday March 7th. There is also a book published with all the winning photos, which hopefully will not make the remaindered or “to be pulped” stock just yet!
