Brilliant Concert This Weekend
BBC award-winning Dartmoor-based folk duo Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are playing in Moretonhampstead THIS SATURDAY in Moreton Church where the accoustics are amazing. Whilst Kathryn & Sean are quite at home playing the Royal Albert Hall in London, this is a great chance to come and see them playing on home-turf here on Dartmoor. Military Wives Choir Concert
As I am sure you are all aware, The Friends are proudly presenting a concert in St John’s Church by the Military Wives Choir from Plymouth. The Military Wives is a huge success story after their initial start by Gareth Malone and there are now 83 choirs worldwide – fantastic! We are starting off with a bar and hog roast being served in the churchyard from 6pm. We have a young and up-coming star, Johan Alderfeld, playing the piano before the concert and during the interval. Dear Parishioners, Is there anyone that has been thinking about joining in with our choir but hasn’t got round to it yet? We do with another soprano ( I don’t mean really high – just singing the tune, we seem to have a lot of altos so we are in need of at least one more singer for the tune bits. Not naming names but perhaps – Caroline (Webster) ? Mary (Pollard) ? Jennifer (Jones?) Tracy (Small) Alex Hubble? or indeed anyone !!
