Fair Funds & a New Date!
Everyone involved was invited to a meeting on Monday evening to discuss the distribution of funds.
I know a lot of people couldn’t make it, which is inevitable, but I did also have some written representations all of which were considered.
The final agreed allocation was :
The Parish Hall and the Church both to receive 40% , namely £1,680 each
Devon Air Ambulance £300
Dartmoor Search and Rescue £200
North Bovey Conservation Group £250 (this just about covers the insurance)
Moretonhamstead Scouts Group (who very ably gave considerable help on the day) £100
Contribution towards engraving the granite blocks under the trees on the green £200
All this is slightly more than the sum raised this year due to some reserves having been freed up.
The intention going forward is to keep the 40% allocation to the Church and Parish Hall fixed at this unless someone involved with the Fair wishes to suggest an alternative.
In this instance it would be discussed again, but not otherwise.
Regarding other distributions that will be kept to bodies that are either part of our Parish or that benefit residents within the Parish.
Date of Next Year’s Fair and going forward
I have set the date for our Fair next year as Saturday 23rd July 2016.
This is the forth Saturday in July.
My intention would be then to keep it as the forth Saturday in July.
I know this may be a tad controversial but it would avoid a clash with Chagstock and another sporting event of Utmost National Importance.
