Stepping Stones
Lots of strimming, clearing and new fencing has been going on at Stepping Stones. Very spruce and lots of hard work. Just needs nature to soften it off now. A joint project between DNP & North Bovey Conservation Group.

Call for late entries!
It’s not too late to make a scarecrow for the competition in the church for the North Bovey tomorrow. All creations welcome but if you’re stuck for an idea how about aliens, space men and monsters. Let’s be wild! Take inspiration from this previous winner from Nikki Hurst Sandy Nightingale

Moreton Hospital Consultation
A well attended meeting at The Sports Centre as you can see. And yes I will be having words with our staff photographer. The hospital will reopen on August 5th. But with no Minor Injuries Unit and 6 beds instead of nine. Then there was an appeal for consultation and much talk about keeping health care local. I will keep my personal view to the ‘comments’ below. Have your say here and I will forward a link to to all concerned.

Great Art Prizes for the Fair!
Look at all the great prizes for the Children’s Art Exhibition in the church on Fair Day! Sandy Nightingale has taught the whole of Moretonhampstead school this year so there will be lots of entries. Come and see!

Last Day for your Phone Photographs!
Have a look through the photos on your phone, and enter two of them to the competition in the church. Send them to Mike Rego at NorthBoveyFair2013@gmail.com and he will print them off. Judging is by public vote!

Manaton Market today!
Rather late notification, I’m afraid, but today is the monthly Manaton Market in the Parish Hall in Manaton. Times are 10.30am to 12 noon. Come on down! And for your diaries, the dates of the next ones are 20th August, 7th September and 15th October.

Meeting about Moreton Hospital!
A quick reminder that this Wednesday, at the Moreton Sports Centre at 5.30. there will be a meeting to hear more about the reopening of our hospital, and its future in our community. Please attend and make your feelings known.

ONE WEEK TO GO!
The Fair to beat all other fairs is on Saturday afternoon of the 20th!!! The world famous MONKEY MACHINE will be making a rare appearance, CAKES are being baked as I write. PLANTS are growing, BOOKS are sorted, nearly new CLOTHES are being colour co-ordinated, BOTTLES are being collected, RAFFLE prizes donated, SHEEP groomed, BRIC-A-BRAC priced. The bunting and tables will be going up on Friday evening, competition entries should be in soon and don’t forget to park you cars OFF the green for the day. Now, who can fix the weather?
