    Saturday’s events for our North Bovey celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

    Those taking part in ‘Beating the Bounds’ will be gathering at the Parish Hall for 9am, and leaving immediately. The walk will take you to Dickford Bridge, the boundary with Lustleigh Parish, and will end at Jurston at around 4.00pm. There will be transport along the way for those who don’t want to do the whole walk, and transport back from Jurston.   This is followed by a sumptuous Cream Tea from approximately 4.30pm in the Parish Hall hosted by the North Bovey Belles WI!   And on another note, if you have a car parked on the east side of the Green – ie, in front of the Parish…

    Today is the start of our celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

    And today, the lighting of a Beacon on Easdon Down, will take place at 9.30pm! Instructions on how to get there: 1. Walking – Debbie will leave the village green promptly at 8.30pm together with anybody who would like to join her in the 40 minute hike. Please bring a torch for return journey. 2. By Land Rover – again departing from the village green at 8.30pm. Seats are limited, so please book yours by contacting Dai – phone number below. 3. By car – followed by a 15 minute walk.     Friends of St John’s Invitation

    Sadly, the dinner being organised by the Friends of St John’s at the Horse on Tuesday 7th December will now not be happening. With very few positive replies linked to the concerns over Covid-19 and the new variant it has been agreed to cancel the event. We’re sorry to those who did reply positively.   On a lighter note, the North Bovey Quiz returns on Friday 28th January.  Full details to follow.

    Pizwell Farm visits to North Bovey

    This message is from Sue Martin, from Pizwell Farm, who generally comes to North Bovey on a Friday afternoon from 2.30pm for half an hour or so, to sell meat and vegetables too. Hello all Just to bring you all up to date about our visits to North Bovey over the next couple of months.
