We are starting a NEW monthly market to be held on the first Thursday of the month, at the Parish Hall in North Bovey. The market will offer a variety of carefully selected local produce, fruit & vegetables, meat, cakes, preserves, jewellery, crafts, British wool products, and organic health & beauty products. The first one will be held on Thursday 5th October, and other dates for 2017 will be Thursday 2nd November and Thursday 7th December. The times will be from 10.30am until 12.00pm. The lamb was found this morning, safe and well. Peter sends his thanks to all those who were out looking for her! Hurrah!

One of Peter’s lambs, which was in the churchyard, has gone missing. She’s an orphan lamb who has been staying with Sue Berwick for a while, and was let out with all the others in the churchyard. She was being very vocal today, and she’s extremely friendly. When I went to investigate earlier, she rushed up to me, looking for food. The last time she was spotted was around 3.00pm we think. If someone has come through the churchyard, she is likely to have followed when they opened the gate. Please, please have a look for her. She’s quite big, with two tiny horns. The Friends of St John’s, North Bovey, is hosting its third Fun Quiz Evening on Friday 10th February at 7.30pm in North Bovey Parish Hall! Quiz Master Ian Goodwin will be sure to bring a host of intriguing questions on subjects which will test the most experienced of quiz goers. Teams should be made up of six people; the cost is just £48.00 which will include two bottles of wine as well as bread and cheese. Further wine and beer will be available for purchase. Does anyone have a cat box (or two) they could lend me please? I’m taking the puppies to the vet tomorrow for their jabs, and their cage is just too heavy to lift. The appointment is first thing in the morning. Also is there is anyone willing to help me wield nine puppies?  They are quite a handful!  Any help would be most appreciated! Many thanks Jennifer

Hello all Some of you will know that my little dog Ella is expecting puppies somewhere around New Year. I’ve already had quite a few expressions of interest in the puppies, but, of course, I don’t yet know how many there will be. I’ll keep you posted! Meanwhile, I would like to start collecting old newspapers so that they can have some absorbent bedding when they arrive!
