    Dog Attack

I have had quite a serious dog attack on my sheep on BroadMeads and because of this I am closing all my fields to the public.  From now on I would like to ask everyone to keep to the footpaths and should my sheep be on the top field in which the path crosses, I would like all dogs to be kept on leads. I’m worried not just about the sheep that has had its throat bitten but all the stress its put on the rest of the flock, which are now heavily pregnant.   Cheers Chris   Chris Clayton   Dartmoor Shooting  e dartmoorshooting@googlemail.com  w www.dartmoorshooting.co.uk  t 07852220581 EX17 5AL

Highways were not able to undertake this service this year so the bags have been filled and distributed by myself your Parish volunteers Snow Warden! For a variety of reasons machine spreading of salt around the village and to Bughead Cross will not take place this winter so if you need to venture out in icy conditions I suggest to carry a small shovel in your vehicle so you are able to make use of the salt deposits in the Grey DCC salt bags. Please alert your friends and neighbors who may not see…

The mystery of the missing table

The old (17C?) table used in church for the visitor’s book has mysteriously disappeared and been replaced by a newer model sometime last year. It was replaced with a newer version of similar size and as it is usually covered with a cloth it has gone unnoticed by the majority. Do you know what has happened to the original? Any ideas as to where it might be? Any information or ideas would be welcomed. Please call Sarah 01647 441224 if you can help
