    Livestock Worrying

    Today is the launch of this years livestock worrying campaign in Devon and Cornwall. Starting on Bodmin Moor today Rural affairs officer along with Police cadets, Special constables and local policing officers will be raising awareness of livestock worrying across the force area. In 2019 on Bodmin Moor alone 43 Sheep were killed as a result of dog attacks and 36 injured.  Why is this important?You are responsible for your dog. Livestock worrying is a crime and livestock that are chased or attacked by dogs are frequently killed or injured.     Tina McGahey was the guest speaker at this week’s North Bovey Belles W.I. meeting. She came to talk to us about an unmentionable problem –  it is surprising the percentage of ladies from the age of 20 who have some sort of incontinence. Tina came to help us sort it out and offer advice if it persists.  She brought along with her a model of our pelvis and our various muscles so that we could see for ourselves what it looks like inside our bodies.     THE FRIENDS OF ST JOHN’S NORTH BOVEY On Wednesday 12th February at 19.30, The Friends of St John’s North Bovey will host Liz Gavrilenko of Bread by Liz at an evening where Liz will talk about her company and her community work; the event will be in the North Bovey Parish Hall. Liz will start her talk at 19.30 until a break at 20.15 when a glass of wine will be available for all, courtesy of the Friends, and light refreshments supplied by Liz.  The Friends will then hold their AGM, a very short affair, before Liz then continues her talk at about 20.45 until 21.15 when the evening will end.  We look forward to seeing a good gathering…
