NORTH BOVEY FAIR – SATURDAY 16th JULY 2022
Our fabulous North Bovey fair is now JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY! It takes place on Saturday 16th July, starting at 2pm! And tomorrow, Sunday 3rd July, from 2.00 until 5.00pm, the Parish Hall will be open to receive donations for the Fair for these stalls: Bric-A-Brac Bottles, and Clothing Please bring any contributions you may have tomorrow, Sunday 3rd July. There will be another opportunity to donate NEXT Sunday – 10th July! Thank you!

Sunday 5th June is the final day of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations
Here are the timings of our events: 9.30am Church Service at St John the Baptist Church 10.45am Procession from the Village Green to the stepping stones, to unveil the Platinum Jubilee Plaque by the newly planted willow tree 12 noon Ringing of the Church Bells 12.30pm North Bovey Community Picnic Lunch This will be held in and around the Parish Hall and Village Green. There are tables in the Parish Hall if the weather is inclement. Bring your own picnic, and then you are invited to help yourself to a selection of puddings and a cheeseboard. Saturday’s events for our North Bovey celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
Those taking part in ‘Beating the Bounds’ will be gathering at the Parish Hall for 9am, and leaving immediately. The walk will take you to Dickford Bridge, the boundary with Lustleigh Parish, and will end at Jurston at around 4.00pm. There will be transport along the way for those who don’t want to do the whole walk, and transport back from Jurston. This is followed by a sumptuous Cream Tea from approximately 4.30pm in the Parish Hall hosted by the North Bovey Belles WI! Today is the start of our celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
And today, the lighting of a Beacon on Easdon Down, will take place at 9.30pm! Instructions on how to get there: 1. Walking – Debbie will leave the village green promptly at 8.30pm together with anybody who would like to join her in the 40 minute hike. Please bring a torch for return journey. 2. By Land Rover – again departing from the village green at 8.30pm. Seats are limited, so please book yours by contacting Dai – phone number below. 3. By car – followed by a 15 minute walk.
