    North Bovey seems to be even better off for wild birds than ever, Now these are not the greatest photos, or the rarest species, but I thought I’d start the ball rolling by posting a couple for you to identify and maybe prompt you to post the ones you see.     Bookcases wanted

    Joyce Crabtree at the Village Fair – 92 and counting!

    Our most loyal supporter, Joyce Crabtree, now 92, was introduced by John Williams at the Fair on Saturday. She has presented us with a pile of old photos of the fair over the years which I shall scan, but in the meantime, thought you would be interested in one of her stories of Fair day in 1984.     I would like to thank everyone in North Bovey for all their messages of support, by phone, email and card, following my recent heart failure. The overwhelming messages of support that I received from so many in the village were most encouraging and touched me deeply – thank you everybody! The good news is that I am now out of hospital, but must rest for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately I am not well enough yet to be able to help with the fair tomorrow, to organise the photo competition or to run around with my camera photographing everyone taking part for the village blog, including the sheep shearing, but I…

    YES, folks, we’re going for it – may be a few more people in the tea room and the church, and who knows about the duck race, but…. the raffle prizes this year are FABULOUS!!!!!!!! extraordinary bric-a-brac there is a new game for golf enthusiasts! cake baking has been unprecedented people are coming from Chile, Denmark, Germany just for our fair, so lets make it good regardless of weather. don’t forget to bring your garden produce to the church between 10 and 12.30 for a chance to win a rosette for your skills.     This message relates to Police Log No. 720 of 16th July 2014. At approximately 1815hrs on Wednesday 16th July a male called at a property in the North Bovey area offering to sell a generator. The male is described as a white male, had an Irish accent, in his 50’s, well built 5ft 10ins tall with dark hair and wore jeans and a smart shirt. He stated his name was Rob.     Cllr Austin was elected Chairman and Cllr Pollard was elected  Vice – Chairman The following officers were elected unanimously: responsibility for: Highways: Cllr Jones TALC: Cllr Hawes Rural Aid: Cllr Coysh will continue to support the PC & serve Rural Aid Public Relations: Cllr Jones PC representative on Parish Hall and Meadow Trusts: Cllr Jones Floodlighting at Bovey Castle.  Lighting has been modified to reduce pollution. Website/communications.  The Parish Hall Trust has agreed to support the Village Voices blog on a trial basis.
